6. To “Says”: there are several synonyms for the slang “corny”. Since English readily absorbs other languages and we often adopt Romance ones, they will sound familiar. Trite=trito/e ritrito refers to story/ideas; corny= banale = banal(Fr.) which refers to the familiar/unoriginal or sdolcinato=sentimental. BTW, the film title is wrong as well…it’s Buon Natale, not bon, for Merry Xmas. Good is buono(Ital.)= bon/bien(Fr)= bueno(Sp.). Both the model & videographer have Italian names, but both are Aussies…they should have asked family that spoke Italian first!
