of course youth are high ranked for new infections, you do realize this is something that has existed for decades and infections are can only ever be tracked once in your lifetime. the older generations are less likely to get infected because they already are. if you want to know what age group is at the most risk for hiv infection you are going to work with weighted statistics.
The “Terminal Illness” is nowadays very easy to medicate so your quality of life, and life expectancy is not cut away from you to a considerable extent because of the physical effects of hiv itself aren’t quite as much as the mental effects when hiv *itself* has no mental effect on you.
