STIGMA: The first step in ending HIV is to address the stigmas that are currently associated with it. MediaCom on behalf of the HIV Foundation Queensland has launched a series of short films titled “There Is Something I Want To Tell You”, highlighting real Australians and their loved ones who are living with HIV. HIV Foundation CEO, Tony Majer hopes the videos will inspire others to access testing for HIV and encourage prevention to reduce HIV transmissions.
“People living with HIV can have an important role to play in the fight to end HIV and the foundation is proud to be able to assist by shining some light on these powerful stories.”
With HIV rates in Queensland on the rise we can all play our part in fighting this disease and the first step is to learn more. The films are targeting primarily the gay community and men who sleep with men (MSM) but we encourage the wider community to view the films to dispel the myths that surround HIV.
