We’re always seated and paying attention when two of our favourites collab.
In the world of adult entertainment, that generally means we’re going to get to watch some guys stripping off and getting hot and sweaty.
While there’s no shortage of scenes featuring every inch of Benvi and Ryan Carter, their collab has delivered something different – the kind of tune that probably should be on your summer-vibes play-list.
The track is “Boi’s Just Want To Have Fun,” the upcoming single by artist and performer Benvi, scheduled for release on all major streaming platforms on July 31, 2026.
“I grew up in a family of musicians…” explains Benvi, reflecting on his passion for music. “My dad was in bands from high school through to his late-thirties. My mom’s an incredible vocalist and both my brothers were in punk bands growing up. Music’s always been a big part of my life and always something that I’ve wanted to pursue.”
“He’s got an old soul…” adds Ryan Carter – producer of the track. “He takes his cues from genres that are more from my generation. I’m always surprised at how he’s inspired by different sounds that I didn’t think would be on his radar.”
“My parents exposed me to a lot of great music growing up…” grins Benvi.
“I came to LA to be a musician…” says Ryan, when I ask about his background. “When I was turning 30, I trained to be a mental health professional, but music has always been in my blood.”
“About six months ago, I was driving Benvi to the airport, and we started talking about our passion for music and the possibility of working together. He then sent me the lyrics for this song and that inspired me to create the production components.”
“It’s a song that I wrote about six years ago…” explains Benvi, reflecting on the creative process. “As someone who is non-monogamous, I have this tendency to attract people who aren’t honest with themselves or are sometimes not honest with their partners – I end up getting caught up in a bit of that drama. That was the inspiration for this track.”
“When he handed the lyrics off to me, I asked Benvi – what’s the sound that you’re hearing? He just said: Fucking. So I started with the bass line – that’s where that thumping and drumming sound comes from.”
“It’s a gay fuck-song, for sure…” grins Benvi. “My nights go-go dancing in the clubs have definitely inspired my sound.”
“I think we hit it out of the park with this song…” says Ryan. “But we’re writing all kinds of tracks.”
“There is an EP on the way…” confirms Benvi. “It’s not all dance music but the through-line is fun and sexy.”
Given how passionate both Benvi and Ryan are about their music collaboration, I was interested how this might impact their work in adult entertainment.
“Besides performing, I also work behind-the-scenes in the adult entertainment industry…” explains Benvi. “I do script-writing and casting and production-assistant work. Right now, I’m kind of taking a break from fan-subscription content – it’s not as fun or creative as I would like it to be.”
“It’s a grind…” confirms Ryan. “It’s like a machine you have to keep feeding. You can have a lot of fun with the people you work with but it’s absolutely relentless.”
But Ryan and Benvi are keen to bring their two worlds together – they don’t see adult entertainment and music as being mutually exclusive.
“The stigma is not quite as deep as it used to be…” says Ryan. “The fan-subscription pages have democratised porn and made it accessible to so many people.”
“Social media in general has helped blur the line a little bit…” agrees Benvi. “You can still generate an audience and become marketable despite what you have posted online or what people have seen of you.”
We wrapped up our conversation by discussing what Benvi and Ryan hope that people feel when listening to Boi’s Just Want To Have Fun.
“I want them to feel sexy and empowered…” decided Benvi. “I just want them to be having a good time.”
