Last week, I celebrated my yearly tradition to go and experience the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco, a weekend filled with the kinkiest and sexiest leather daddies, fetish, and kinky people worldwide. If there is one event you should consider participating in, it is Folsom. So, let’s get right into what trouble I got myself into this weekend in San Francisco.

What is the Folsom Street Fair?

Folsom San Francisco takes place on the last Sunday of September on Folsom Street between 8th and 13th Street. Folsom started 40 years ago (in fact, this year’s event was much bigger than past events just to celebrate this milestone), and it is one of the most significant outdoor events for leather and BDSM culture. Also, Squirt.org is a yearly attendee among other BDSM, kink and fetish vendors and businesses. 

The Fair is a 7-hour event that will leave you wanting to explore new kinks. You will see things you have probably never heard or seen before. It is a great chance to connect with people who are into your same kinks, and I always find the space extremely welcoming of everyone, no matter your body type, kink, sexuality, race, or dick size. 

Although the Fair is the place to be and visit, the weekend leading to the fair is packed with activities and events for everyone, so let’s explore what you can do around the city to get that hole all sloppy and ready to get used at the fair. 

When Is Folsom in 2023?

As mentioned above, Folsom will usually be the last weekend of September; so, Folsom weekend in 2023 started on Friday, September 22, 2023, and went until Sunday, September 24.

But while these are the official dates, the fun gets started a little earlier as people arrive around Wednesday to get kinky and naughty. I got the chance to arrive on Friday morning, so here are some of the mischiefs I got into for the weekend.

The first thing I tell you in every entry is to find a place to stay and determine how far away everything is. San Francisco is a big city, and events are scattered around the city. 

Your best bet is something close to Union Square or the Castro, as you can walk everywhere. Remember that taking a taxi or Uber here can be pretty pricey, so find yourself in a good location. As I said in my Dore Alley 2023 article, San Francisco can be dangerous at night, so try to make friends to go to parties with and avoid carrying too much with you; after all, you are gonna be pretty much naked at most events so why bother bringing a lot besides a credit card, a little cash for donation (more on that later), lube and your ready and douched holes!

What Should I Do On Friday for the Folsom Street Fair?

When you arrive, the first thing to do is get your gear in order. If you don’t have much or want a new look for the weekend, head to Mr. S Leather on 8th Street; this is one of my favourite stores. 

Before entering, you must coat-check your bags (and as many clothes as you want). Once inside, you can try everything on anywhere you want. Prepare yourself to see a lot of dick and also a lot of playing around the store. After you make your purchases, head to the back and go to the beer garden. I say this every year when I go, but this event is THE place to be for the weekend.

Make sure to donate cash to the charities Mr. S is supporting. In previous years, you were not allowed to play outside or be naked, but the patio was extended this year, and a play tent was added. If you feel like drinking while getting your dick sucked, now you can! 

I did a few rounds around the tents, but the party atmosphere was so great that I just stayed with old and new friends. 

After you are done here at around 6 PM, get back to your hotel, freshen up and start getting your hole and dick ready for the next party. 

This year, I decided to try the event Prime at Club 6. Prime is an event for daddies and daddy chasers, so this would be right in my element. Make sure you go with friends to this event, as Club 6 is on 6th Street and Market, and it can be a rough area at night.

This year, I decided to try a party called “New Breed,” which all the locals recommended last year. 

To get tickets for this event, subscribe beforehand to the event’s newsletter or socials, as tickets go on sale on a random day and take around 20 minutes to sell out. The event also occurs at Club 6, so you know it will get naughty in the basement as there are two darkrooms and a very seedy dancefloor.

Stay Protected

Be sure to get tested before you attend to keep others safe; after all, there is a lot of random and anonymous fucking that takes place, and you don’t want to put others and yourself at risk.
