The ice cream company has refused to dismiss rumors that it will be producing a “Schweddy Balls” flavor, likely inspired by the 1998 Saturday Night Live sketch starring Alec Baldwin.
In the sketch, Baldwin plays Pete Schweddy, holiday baker who appears as a guest on a dull NPR radio show “The Delicious Dish” hosted by cast members Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon. His bakery, cleverly named “Seasons Eatings,” is known for its popcorn balls, rum balls and most famously, its Schweddy Balls.
The skit became infamous for the prolonged gag – how many ways can the hosts get excited by their guest’s unironic obscene treats?
