What interested you about attending Lazy Bear?
CCX – I have two daddy bear friends of mine that go every year. One of then has been going for over 20 years! They always look like they’re having the best time and meeting the sexiest guys. I knew I had to get in on the fun.
VSB – I had never been but kept hearing fun stories from friends!
BD – I was told by a lot of guys when I first came out that this was the Bear event to go to. This year was my 4th year attending Lazy Bear. I’ve devoted every summer to this event because of all the amazing sexual experiences I gain from there. A big plus is without fail, I am reunited by wonderful friends that I met there from previous years, and I make new friends there every year.
What was the hottest part of Lazy Bear?

What does Body Positivity mean to you?

Did you go to the Naked Pool Party?
CCX – People were fooling around everywhere by the pool! I had more sex there in 2 hours than I had in 2 months. It was so freeing and accepting, I really haven’t experienced anything like it. Also, If you’re going to the pool parties, especially the naked pool party at The Woods, bring lube, a bottle of water, a bottle of Gatorade, a power bar, and sunscreen, because it’s literally a fucking marathon there. You’re gonna need all your strength and plenty of protection from the sun.
How do you hit on someone or communicate that you wanna fuck?
CCX – Chatting with anyone at The Woods (the resort) is basically a pick up line. Sex is everywhere, it doesn’t take much to initiate it. At the bonfire party, I definitely used the line “I haven’t seen the woods beyond the bonfire yet. Want to show me?” More than a few times. But really, just ask them if they want to take a walk and everyone knows what that means.
VSB – Usually starts with an exchanged smile. Then an introduction if we do it again. Some straight-to-the-point flirting / exchange of compliments. Then if it’s the right situation, asking if they need help with something or telling them how much I’d love to do something to them. Then go do it.

I never thought a small mountain town that was so accepting of LGBTQ+ people existed. The locals are so accommodating and excited to see everyone. Respect the love and acceptance they share.

VSB – First time in Guerneville and it was a lot of fun! Apparently Lazy Bear is mostly the same guys from the Bay Area, and yet everyone was still incredibly welcoming of first-timers. I’ll be back!
BD – I came out on 08/20/2017. I was 34 years old. I was in the process of getting a divorce, and I was so insecure with my body size and shape. I’ve been a social butterfly all my life, but I didn’t think any guy would be into me because of my body.
