This is SUCH an important issue many gay men don’t realize it. There are so many homeless gay youth it’s shocking. I look at it this way. If every gay man spent one Saturday at home a month and gave that $50 towards gay homeless youth. As a community we would end gay youth homelessness in a year; forever.
This is not a drill people. Think of what it is like to be 15 out of the closet, your parents disowned you, your friends can’t put you up, scared out of your mind, you can’t legally work and have no way to feed yourself except a shelter filled with old men looking at you thinking, “Yeah I wanna git me some of that to keep my dick warm!” (Then double this anxiety if you are a runaway from a small town.) That’s why this is such a tremendously important issue. Not only for gay youth but the for future of the gay community at large.
