  1. Arrghhh, what the hell did you do to the website? This comes up blank, says I’m not logged in (even thought I am and re-logged in twice) and every time I reload the page, it goes blank.
    Mozilla Firefox, latest upgrade, Windows10.

  2. How can anything be “new and improved” when you’re using a nearly extinct platform to build it? Adobe Flash powers the IM and regular member’s videos on Squirt. This new feature still relies on dinoFlash! Flash hasn’t been supported on mobile since late 2011. If you have old mobile equipment it still works or you can still download it by downgrading your system updates to an old version that compatible, but then you’re vulnerable to security problems since Adobe hasn’t done any for mobile for years. Here in the US, nearly 80% use their smartphone as their primary portal to the Internet. Flash doesn’t work on smartphones so neither does Squirt’s best features. Why doesn’t Squirt just update? Their last email response of a few days ago said: ” Flash ( which still powers this new IM/video feature as well) is the best solution in regards to our user base and infrastructure.” The user base I know here complains about this problem unless they’re still on a PC. As to Squirt’s infrastructure, of course it is best for them as they want to avoid the expense of reconfiguring their site at the expense of their members.

So what are others doing with Flash? Adobe, it’s creator, has long stopped new development and is maintainance mode only and has already created a HTML replacement. It allows that less than 5% of home sites worldwide still use Flash and that’s falling fast. They’ve warned they’re only going to write security updates for PCs for a couple of years more. YouTube totally dumped Flash this past January. Facebook told them to kill it. Mozilla and Google had to totally block it in July due to grave security breaches. Amazon announced it eliminating all Flash inventory. This list goes on. Flash is still fixing the endless security problems. Yet Squirt is expanding its use despite its being mobile hostile in a mobile dominant world. The comments above show it’s not working. Just ditch the old platform before it ditches you. Squirt has a great concept and site, extensive advertising, but ultimately fails. When new guys see ads and use their smartphones to check out the main site, they can’t see vids or IM. Well that makes them want to join and pay dues. Everything worked on mobile before ‘new’ Squirt when they separated desktop into mobile as well. It’s been downhill since. There’s been almost no comments on the Cam and Cum posts because I suspect that most can’t see them as we all update our equipment that excludes Flash. If a site works, you’re happy to pay dues to support it. Squirt keeps posting emails slashing dues 50% for some reason and I guess people don’t want to pay for stuff that doesn’t work wand they rather have some money than none. Shift the ad budget to pay for reinventing the site and then people will be excited about Squirt again and pay dues. Otherwise, this is self imposed obsolescence.

Let’s hear back what their plans are for a change….

  3. Another mess. I may be using an old blackberry PlayBook but I pay my dues and expect to be able to use the chat. Very disappointing and yet another improvement that does not deliver.:(
