Any public official who charges personal purchases to the city, state, or federal government credit card is a thief. However, being a gay republican is no sin. I’m gay and vote republican consistently. I am not a socialist democrat, can’t stand Obama and look forward to next November when we can get a President who believes in our constitution. Memphis is at the corner of Tennessee and has suburbs in Arkansas and Mississippi. It’s not a typo.

Gay, straight, Democrat, Republican or anything else, a public official who abuses his/her position to make personal purchases with taxpayer dollars is breaking the law. That person is also a moron. Do these people really think they can get away with crimes like this in this day and age? Being “honest” and “proud” after one is caught is not honorable, it’s shameful. And it makes a mockery of all those men and women who ARE honest and proud without having to be caught committing a crime first. This man should resign immediately for his abuse of the public trust, and kiss any thought of running for re-election goodbye. Such arrogance. How stupid does he think his constituents are? He isn’t Marion Barry, after all. There’s an old saying, that you get the government you deserve. I somehow think Southaven, Mississippi, deserves better than this embarrassing excuse for a public servant.
