22. Tatum is an ambitious and successful young actor who is part of the new stable of hollywood beefcake actors. Sexiest man alive…not so much…so why did People anoint him? As always in Hollywood, follow the money. People is owned by Time-Warner and flourishes on celebrity to sell its issues. Tatum just released 5 films in 2012 and 4 to come in 2013, so as a hot property he helps sell mags so why not enhance his career and sell more issues. His big movie, “Magic Mike” was distributed by Warner Distribution at a great profit and a sequel is being filmed…guess who will distribute that? There are several more corporate connections to his other films as well, but you get the idea. T-W also owns TMZ. So Time-Warner uses it’s assets to enhance careers of those it can make money on both directly and indirectly…shocking isn’t it. With a promising career promoted by T-W and owning 2 production companies who could use investments, prehaps coproductions with Warners and needing distributers…..Warners and New Line, Tatum is now beholden to Time-Warners kingmaking through People magazine. His good looks have been used quite literally as the cover story to set up a financial win-win siuation rather than anything really to.do with being the “sexiest man”.

Sure, he’s been very hyped up this year and he may not be a muscle god, but from everything I’ve read, seen, and heard, he’s really down to earth and quite normal, albeit kinda crazy.
