    I sometimes post how ridiculous guys that are 20-30sometbing try to shave down and dress as if they’re still in their late teens…a pathetic attempt at recapturing lost youth. If some of the guys here would not obsess so much about the superficial details of aging that ultimately don’t matter anyway, they would find self love. When you are happy with yourself, you can then make others happy too. That’s the beginning of a true and abiding relationship.

    Being associated with the Studios, two films illustrate this point. You can be true to yourself and have real values as Rose Dawson did in “Titanic”. She dumped the glittering, but pretentiously phoney world of the super rich for an amazing life of accomplishments, never looking back, but only using the past as a springboard into the future. Or you can withdraw like Norma Desmond forever wishing for vanished youth and other glories of the past eventually becoming alone in your own mausoleum. Each passing decade takes something away, yet gives us new gifts to enjoy. The two pictured here have found this truth.The trick is to embrace the present and always look to the future and with some great luck be able to walk into it with someone you love by your side. Someone asked an aged Thomas Jefferson what was the most exciting period of his life, he paused then said, I hope that hasn’t happened yet as the future is unknown and that is where I’m going to spend the rest of my life…that’s forever young and sexy.

39. When I looked in the mirror after a shower and saw my dad’s body looking back at me, I made a PERSONAL decision to shape up at 52. I’m 55 now and look forward to my hours in the gym. No, I HUNGER for them. And most people who don’t know my real age underestimate it by a dozen years now.
    But that’s just my experience and choice of how to handle a body image I personally was not happy with anymore. If you don’t like what you see in the mirror you can do something about it at any age.

    Let’s face it our community is based on looks. Hence why the gay porn industry makes billions of dollars annually selling an image of perfect skin, muscles and chisled looks. However, off camera, we know porn stars can’t look like that all time. But! There are some who can. I applaud anyone who wants to live their life as a proud gay man, regardless of shape. However you can be loud and proud but that doesn’t mean if you’re old, flabby, swaddled in rainbow flags and 60 you’ll get laid. What everyone forgets in the gay community we are men, catering to the sexual desire of other men. Just like women are ostrized for growing old and fat, what do you think happens to most gay men?

    With the world’s oldest, competitive, male bodybuilder being 80 years old no one has to grow old and flabby today. We know better and can do better. BUT! No one as to be competitive bodybuilder either. However just like a bodybuilder can’t complain that they have to be at the gym every day to build muscle, a man who grows old and chubby can’t complain he feels invisible and ignored.

    What’s my choice? I’m 43 and won my first fitness model/body building award at 42. I’d rather be 60 and fuckin’ hot than grow old gracefully but as I’ve said, that’s my choice. Counter his post with opposing views, not personal attacks. The point of an open forum is to hear all views…anything else is censorship…then who will be the censor? Also, DirtyPT and Jackpapa made one of my points much more clear and succinct than I did. Aging is inevitable and I said that you should be the best you can be at that point and time in your life. The right combination of diet, activty, and rest will reshape any body.

The only study that ever showed more meals were better than less was disgustingly erroneous, using 6 meals versus just one. As someone who lives by the intermittent fasting diet, I know from others and my own experience, that 2-3 heavy meals works better than the small meals/grazing method.
