Kate Ward (for Entertainment Weekly):
“As a former hardcore 98 Degrees fan (don’t laugh), I’m not really sure what to say about the news that Jeff Timmons will be teaming up with Chippendales in Las Vegas from May 12 to June 5. (Chippendale’s would like to stress, however, that Timmons will not be stripping, but may show some skin.) So I will try to discuss this piece of “news” the only way I know how: By using the track list of the album that will always hold a special place in my heart (and my 1998 CD tower), 98 Degrees and Rising.
Here goes: Let’s “Give It Up” for Jeff Timmons, who plans to “Heat It Up” on the Chippendales stage by asking lucky audience members, “Do You Wanna Dance?” It may seem a sad career move, but, friends, be “True to Your Heart“: You know you “Still” love Timmons. Jeff, it’s “Because of You” (and Nick Lachey) that I stuck by 98 Degrees’ side long enough to purchase Revelation and This Christmas. Simply, “I Do (Cherish You).” (And if your harshest critic dares to laugh at this news, I’d just wonder, “If She Only Knew” your [shirtless] talents! Whatever, “She’s Out of My Life” anyway.) So, Jeff, I wish I could be at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino next month to ask you to (pull down your) “Fly With Me” and tell me about “The Hardest Thing.” Get your mind out of the gutter, PopWatchers: I’m talking about agreeing to put this lame “Intro” at the start of his album.”
Love Jeff Timmons. One of the hottest guys to come outta this area in Ohio. (Besides Eddie McClintock) I’d sure pay to see him, even if he just flashed a smile
