Or what about Billy Jack Gaither or Scott Amedure–another couple of high-profile cases of gay men killed IN THE USA by American men. In none of these cases did anything about “Communist” or “socialist” political leanings emerge.
     I’m also a bit confused about your “friend.” You say you sent him a “Playboy” magazine but, for some reason, the Soviet police got after him because he was gay? Dude. I’ve read “Playboy” and it NEVER really catered to the gay market–you know, because it features pictures of naked WOMEN. Almost never any dick pics. (On the other hand, during the Soviet era, ALL pornography was illegal but that doesn’t really have anything to do with being gay.)
     And, for the record, the first countries to legalize same-sex marriage and to make same-sex conduct legal were SOCIALIST.
