In December, Towleroad posted about Timothy Ray Brown, who has been dubbed “The Berlin Patient” by the medical community, and is said to have been purged of HIV infection via genetically-engineered stem cells.
Veteran SF CBS reporter Hank Plante, who covered the early years of the AIDS epidemic, talks to Brown in his first television interview.
These are very exciting times that we live in
Hey Sarge – this is an interesting story but not the big news on treatment as prevention. While the Berlin patient shows what is possible, what is not possible is doing this on any large scale. The real news is that ARVs treat AIDS and prevent HIV infection. This means that us Squirters have a job to do together – get ourselves tested, get on treatment, and start talking about HIV again. That way, we can end AIDS in our lifetime. No joke.
Now, let me get back to jerking off to that Peto Coast clip you sent out. How about some WS clips?
