Paul Stag is on the hunt for sleazy guys

I caught up with London-based filmmaker Paul Stag for a behind-the-scenes look at his latest release for Treasure Island Media – Ruin The Cunt.

The creative process

“Treasure Island Media have been at the top of the porn game for 22 years now, and we have a pretty clear formula…” explains Paul, when I ask him about the creative process behind a production such as Ruin The Cunt.

“We’ve found that the more we stray away from that formula – trying out different ideas – the less our fans seem to like it. So, we stick to what works – fit but normal-looking, sleazy guys with huge sex drives, just breeding ass on repeat. Most of all, cum – cum, cum, and then even more cum from the next top.”

“Because we’ve got a number of different production locations, we’re shooting all the time – one-on-ones, solos, three-ways, large groups, outdoors, whatever. Over a period of time, a group of scenes that complement each other are pulled together into a film.”

“Although we’re as active online and on digital platforms as anyone, we still like the 2-hour group of seven or so great scenes released as a ‘film’ that we can publicise.”

“Ruin The Cunt – which apparently is something I shout quite a lot while I’m directing – is made up of scenes shot over an 18-month period. The theme that links the scenes is aggression, and it features the best and nastiest horse-hung European bareback verbal tops around.”

“I try and find as many sleazy guys with the Treasure Island Media mindset from different countries and with different accents as possible. If you want to see American-on-American, great – my colleagues do that well. I try to switch it up with a Swedish guy breeding a Greek hole, or a French guy getting put to the cock by a hairy Portuguese lad. Ruin The Cunt is big on that – I like to think that it’s like The League Of Nations, but with an awful lot more spunk.”

“If you want to see a real Scottish soldier like Marc McCaulay breeding military-style, it’s there.

Or, if you want to see two Russian lads like Dmitri Osten and Mars Gymburger fucking destroy a Spanish sub as if the Cold War Russian Interrogation was still a thing, then get your knob out and enjoy.”

“The encounter that I’m most proud to have in this film is the very taboo scene with Jafar and Pan Bash – both are Muslim guys, fucking in Arabic gear. It was hot – I was rock hard filming that one, especially as Jafar is just the nastiest fucker around.

The production process

“As a model, I’ve been on every type of set – including being on location for a whole month with only two sex scenes to record, and where there were loads of guys on set, cameras as big as a TV, sound and script guys…” says Paul.

“Over the last decade, the customers have moved heavily towards realism, real sex in real-time – hence the demise of staged studios like Titanmen and Cazzo, and the rise of fansites and homemade porn.”

“We use two small cameras, a basic light set-up, and no one else present. So, the models arrive, relax, and do their IDs and paperwork. Then, when they’re ready, we just roll. Once everyone is happily de-spunked and the manseed has been played with and passed around as much as possible, we call cut.”

“Most Treasure Island Media scenes are done in under two hours. The more experienced porn stars really like it as it feels as near to off-camera sex as possible. “We could call it gonzo directing, military directing, or whatever, but my promise to viewers is that they will never be bored.”

“Guys watch porn in so many different ways. I know that we have fans who watch around two hours of gay fucking every night, and others who just watch a couple of minutes in their washrooms during a lunch-break while they bust a quick nut out. So, as pornographers, we may wish for people to start at the beginning, watch all the way through and don’t fast forward or jump through bits of our art, but this is the real world.”

“The industry average time that a porn viewer watches for is eight minutes. I hope that in Ruin The Cunt – with 11 scenes of considerable variety – there is enough to get as many guys off as possible, repeatedly. Some porn directors think that they’re Scorsese or Christopher Nolan, but we’re happy if the customer empties his sack satisfactorily or if we help a gay couple get into the right head-space, and that they want to come back another time when their groin begins to get that urge.”

“Basically, Treasure Island Media will always be there when your cock or hole needs us – we have no loftier objectives than that.”

Planning ahead

“We have some serious filming to do…” says Paul, when I ask about his plans in a post-pandemic world. “I have an army of hot men raring to go who need to exchange cum loads fast.”

“I’ve also been working on a range of Treasure Island Media fetish gear – I can’t wait to get this fantastically designed stuff out there.”

“We’re also working on some online filmed interviews and features with our international stars, so that fans can get to know them much better, as well as feel closer to the studio.”
