Angel Rivera is a talent worth paying attention to

I caught up with Angel Rivera for a quick-fire Q&A about his online life.

You won the GayVN Award for Best Actor for your work on A Murdered Heart. How did winning that award make you feel?

It gave me some reassurance that I have something to offer beyond looks and body parts.

Your work on Lips Together, 6 Feet Apart was also recognised with a GayVN Award. Has the Covid-19 pandemic changed the game for the adult entertainment industry, or is it just another thing to be tested for before a shoot?

Obviously, it’s different – there’s another layer of protection that’s needed with COVID – but hopefully vaccines will soon get the world coming back to normal a little bit.

You seem to have a pretty strong connection to Basquiat – what draws you to him and his art?

Jean-Michel Basquiat is a king. I needed to think of myself as a king, so I got his signature crown on my arm.

I learned about Basquiat when I was in New York last year.

His story may be a sad one but it hits very close to home – I totally relate to feeling like you’re alone in a room full of people.

Do you enjoy the entrepreneurial side of the adult entertainment business?

I like having to learn the business side of things – talking to directors and creating ideas to market.

I was basically going to school for everything entrepreneurial. Dropping out four years ago, I feel like I’ve had to be on my toes or risk losing the things I dropped out for.

Can we talk underwear?

Usually, day in and day out, I free-ball – it’s just more comfortable.

At the gym, I still freeball.

When it comes to other guys, I like seeing briefs on a good bottom.

What are some of your goals and aspirations for the months ahead?

This year, I’m hoping to start a podcast where I can bring everyone on to discuss their opinions and feelings about the current status of their lives and their world.
