Muscleboy Wrestling – are you ready to get in the ring?

I caught up with Rocco Russo – the man behind Muscleboy Wrestling – for a behind-the-scenes look at the smackdowns that are fuelling our fantasies.

The origin story

“I remember wrestling a childhood friend in the 8th grade…” explains Rocco, when I ask him about the background to Muscleboy Wrestling. “He was my best friend at the time. He was really cute and he was obsessed with wrestling.

“We were in the basement of my childhood home, and he wanted to wrestle – ‘like they do on TV’. So, we went at it. In about five seconds, I had a raging boner. I was so freaked out – I told him that I had to run to the bathroom. I had no concept of what ‘gay’ was, I just knew that I was super turned-on.”

“After that, I started watching wrestling on TV every Saturday morning, and that was it – I was hooked. Hot, muscular guys in skimpy trunks jumping all over each other was my idea of heaven!”

“I thought I must be the only person on planet earth that was into wrestling – how wrong I was!”

“I came from a very conservative and repressed family – it took me years to work through all of that. Thankfully, wrestling really taught me that it was ok to be gay.

“I even had a mini-career of my own as a pro wrestler in a small independent promotion. It was in the 90s, and there was no such thing as an ‘out’ pro wrestler. But it sure was fun to be in those locker rooms back then!”

“In terms of Muscleboy Wrestling, we never set out to create a wrestling company. My husband was an underground wrestler. He and I were both trained wrestlers – we love to wrestle each other.”

“We started hearing from people on social media asking us to create custom videos of the two of us wrestling, as well as videos of other guys wrestling. People had very specific requests in terms of gear and scenarios. So, we thought – why not? A little extra money couldn’t hurt and it could be a fun side-venture.”

“Once we produced the first few videos, the fan reaction was overwhelming. The word got out that we were producing high-quality wrestling videos – suddenly we had tonnes of requests for custom videos. We couldn’t keep up with the demand.”

“It seemed a natural progression to open a website and let the whole world see the work we were doing. Honestly, from there, it took off like a rocket.”

“We never imagined the response would be so huge. Even guys who aren’t into wrestling as a fetish were buying the videos and sending us tonnes of positive feedback.”

“A lot of our videos also include sex, and we use some big name porn stars. It’s been fun to introduce a new audience to the wrestling fetish world.”

The theatre of wrestling

“Our site focuses on the pro wrestling style…” confirms Rocco, when I ask him about the types of wrestling bouts featured on Muscleboy Wrestling.

“We also like to mix in a lot of MMA-style submission moves and holds, and even some collegiate and freestyle stuff.”

“When I performed those pro wrestling shows many years ago, it didn’t take long to realise that pro style is fun and theatrical – that translates well on camera.”

“Gay men love the domination and submission aspect of it. It really is about power and control and rough play – our fans really love it, and so do we!”

The men in the ring

“Our process for picking our models and wrestlers is pretty extensive…” says Rocco, when I ask about how he casts guys for the wrestling bouts.

“We interview all of them. If they’re not experienced wrestlers, we look for guys that have some background in sports. If they’ve participated in any kind of contact sports on a team or at the gym, then that helps a lot.”

“Derek Bolt is a big porn star but he also has some experience in MMA and Karate – he was really eager to learn more, and it really shows in his videos on the site. He’s also a super guy and really fun to work with.”

“On day-one of each shoot, we train all the guys in the pro wrestling style – it’s kind of like a crash-course in pro wrestling. We condense months of pro wrestling training into a few hours, which is pretty nuts.”

“Some models take to it right away and some we need to spend more time with. So far, we’ve been ecstatic by how great our boys have done and how excited they are to try their hand at pro wrestling.”

“We really try to incorporate the wrestling angle in the sex scenes. It’s really hot to see these big porn stars getting dominated and put into wrestling holds, and then getting fucked on the mats or in the ring. We’re the only wrestling site in the world that includes this in our videos – we think it really makes us unique.”

“We’re always looking for new ways to freshen up the videos, and we get tonnes of wild requests from our fans. Our custom-video feature on the site enables fans to direct the action with their favourite wrestler.”

“The wrestling gear adds to the element of eroticism in our videos – whether it be in wrestling trunks, speedos, jocks, singlets, leotards, thongs, or socks – we embrace it all.”

Future focus

“Our aspirations for Muscleboy Wrestling are to continue to expand our fan base and start branching out and create another site or two…” says Rocco, when I ask what the coming months might hold for his wrestling team.

“The most important thing for us is to continue to try and give the fans high quality wrestling videos mixed in with the hot sex that we know they love.”

“We work really hard to keep the quality level high and really deliver for our fans. Their loyalty and dedication to the site has been amazing. We truly can’t thank them enough – their energy and enthusiasm is what really keeps us going.”
