BUZZFEED: In case you didn’t already know, every year the Annapolis Naval Academy freshman class, known as ‘Plebes,’ climb a monument covered in lard to retrieve the Plebian Sailor’s hat and replace it with an officer’s hat. The tradition is one step in marking the end of wearing freshman headgear and moving up to headgear more like a U.S. Naval officer.

It is amazing and beautiful.

  1. An incredible ritual — one that’s almost as old as our Navy itself. And if you think this is fun, you should see the guys clean the monument the next day. That’s a lotta Crisco.

  2. in a post “don’t ask. don’t tell” era, it’s incredible to me that the queer-fearing officers didn’t feel that having their young “plebes” climb a cum-coated stone phallus wasn’t “Gay”… Oh My!

  3. Pic #11 is so fucking hot…………great fit arse on the guy and another lucky fucker getting to grab it!!!!!

  4. That is the GAYEST tradition I have ever heard of – dozens of half naked, hot, hunky young men at their sexual peak getting all wet and slicked up, straddling each other while trying to climb a giant phallic monolith so they can mount it? Don’t ask don’t tell? What a joke!

  5. All lubed up? Great, now it’s time to hit the showers men. Ah, the soap is on the floor.

  6. Loved the Navy then, love it now!! Hot men dedicated to duty and ready to play.

Blessed Memmorial Day to US troops and all the troops of the world who have sacrificed for the freedom of the world.
