If you’re a fan of Bara – the gay erotica that celebrates big beefy men in a Manga style – then you’re probably going to want to get your hands on the Transformation series.
Transformation has been created by Vincent – a Bara artist from Japan, now based in Canada.
This is an erotic Bara story about the sexual adventures of a big and beefy guy called Masahiro.
Vincent has now released 12 volumes in the Transformation series – distributing them through Class Comics.
There’s so much to enjoy in this detailed story. There’s power, control, mysticism, ancient traditions and rituals, as well as plenty of muscular man-on-man action. There’s religion and rugby, and some really explicit encounters that will fuel fantasies that perhaps you didn’t realise would push your buttons.
I caught up with Vincent for a behind-the-scenes look at Transformation.
The origin story
“I’m inspired by lots of different artists – Patrick Fillion, Ismael Alvarez, Glen Hanson, and Gengoroh Tagame…” explains Vincent, when I ask him what draws him to the Bara style of erotic art.
“I created my first comic, Hero, in 2010. Since then, my style has continued to evolve.”
“When I began working on the story that would become Transformation, I was originally focused on a young guy at college who enjoyed his school life and was having lots of encounters with other students. But then, his brother – Masahiro – was so appealing to me that I completely switched focus.”
“Masahiro became the main character. He’s a guy who is married but is having this intense affair with his father-in-law.”
“I have an underwear fetish. I’m especially turned on by a guy wearing a loincloth, or a masculine guy wearing feminine underwear. That’s why this story includes a lot of Masahiro wearing different erotic outfits.”
The casting couch
“This is a tough decision…” considers Vincent, when I ask him who he would cast as Masahiro in a live-action porn adaptation of Transformation.
“There are so many porn stars that I’d love to see in this role. But if I had to choose one, maybe Stas Landon? He’s so attractive!”
Creating hot guys
“I’m currently working on volume 13 of Transformation…” confirms Vincent, when I ask him if we can expect further adventures in the story of Masahiro. “I’ve also started planning volume 14 of the series.”
“I’ll continue to create more episodes of Transformation, alongside the other comics that I’m also working on.”
“In total, I’ve so far released 37 comics. Hearing that people like the characters and want to read more keeps me motivated.”
“It’s time-consuming – all of my comics are created in colour – but I really enjoy creating hot guys!”
