Steve Schulte (aka Colt model Nick Chase) was at one time an aide to Los Angeles City Council member Peggy Stevenson. When Schulte later ran for the West Hollywood City Council in 1986, a gay candidate for City Council sent out a mailer showing Schulte nude and erect in his Colt days. Schulte won the election and became mayor of West Hollywood.
