Uptown Downstairs Abbey is a cheeky BBC parody, filmed as part of Red Nose Day (a UK charity telethon sponsored by Comic Relief). The two-part video features several familiar faces—including Kim Cattrall doing a spot-on impression of Kewpie-doll-voiced mother Cora and Jennifer Saunders stealing the show as the nasty Dowager Countess of Grantham, plus Joanna Lumley, Harry Enfield, out actor Simon Callow (as Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes) and several other British thespians recognizable to watchers of BBC dramas. Enjoy!

  1. *snort* Love the spoof. French and Saunders MUST have had a hand in writing this. Ironically, Joanna’s accent sounded more like Jennifer Saunder! Kim Catrall is luckly to have Britain. In America she’s nothing more than the slutty one from that show, but in Britain they actually utilise her talents, both Dramatically and comedically.

Was that Victoria Wood I spied? She looks great! Yep, it was. So many brilliant actors in one brilliant spoof!

  2. Or, if you’re like me… you can download the episodes for season 2 from kickasstorrents.com. Season 2 has 8 episodes this year, and a Christmas special. So far it’s really good!

This parody is hilarious! I love that Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley are in it! And rumour has it that Patsy and Eddie are making a comeback in a new series/special of Absolutely Fabulous, sometime in 2012.
