Sydney World Pride 2023 has ended, and what a collection of events and activities this has been. As a regular circuit queen, leather boy, exhibitionist, and horny gay, I had the privilege of attending World Pride this year, and I am going to give you my 2 cents on what went down in my experience at Sydney Mardi Gras and World Pride. Sit tight, and let’s dive into it, shall we?

When Was Sydney World Pride 2023 in Australia?

Sydney World Pride took place from February 17 until March 5, with most events happening on the weekends of February 24 and March 3. Whether you are a circuit queen or more of a stay home kind of guy, World Pride has events for everyone.

However, I will tell you about the dance events and horny places I attended while visiting Sydney. For starters, Sydney is a very welcoming and gay city, and with them hosting World Pride, rainbows and jockstraps were everywhere.

Concerts, Gay Bars and Kylie, Oh My!

To start, I attended the welcoming concert hosted by Courtney Act (hopefully, you are a drag race fan and know who this is). The event was terrific, and it hosted over 15,000 2SLGBTQIA+ people who were there to party and dance.

Do I need to add that the concert had Charli XCX and Australia’s queen, Kylie Minogue?!?!? Kylie was, of course, amazing. Following the show, you had the option to go to pre-booked events, such as theme parties, gay club events and high-level drag shows, which, like many pride events, tend to be pricy, and since I am a queen on a budget, I opted for the second option – bars!

Oxford Street is considered the “village”; it is full of venues to party and have a good time. Most venues are free to attend and cater to whatever you are into, but I would 100% recommend you check out the Eagle wherever you are. But if you like dancing and circuit music, Arq is your best option.

You can also check out iconic bars like the Stonewall, Palm and Universal, among others, if circuit music is not your thing, but you still crave a dance floor.

Pre-Gaming before XCX, Charli! (or “It’s Charli Baby,” depending on your vibe)

What Happened at Sydney Mardi Gras in 2023?

World Pride was aligned with Mardi Gras, a massive annual party. Thus, this weekend was full of parades, drinking, partying and good vibes.

Saturday is the main event in Sydney as the parade takes over the streets, and people just get to dance, be gay and have a great time. If you can visit Australia, I recommend attending Mardi Gras; but be sure to bring lots of glitter!

After the parade, you can either get crazy and keep partying or refuel for the next day of celebrations. However, if you are a good Aussie, you will power through it and stay on Oxford Street until the sun comes out.

The Sunday celebration was a massive 12,000-people circuit party featuring Kelly Rowland and a lot of hungover gays. Listen, I attend many circuit festivals, dance parties and tea dances, and I was ready for this to be my usual event. I was amazed at how welcoming, dancy and friendly this party was.

A 7-hour marathon of Circuit DJs and lots of sweaty and friendly gays dancing outdoors is not something you get to experience every day. Gays, we can be warm, and if you were at these events, let’s learn from Aussies cause their gay community felt very welcoming!

After the Gay Circuit Party: The Gay Naked Party!

Now, let’s get to the spicy stuff. Sunday, after this massive outdoor circuit party, I had the chance to attend a party called LOADS, presented by BarCode – and I think the title of this event is self-explanatory.

Hosted at Trade – a cruising bar off Oxford Street. I was told this bar could be hit or miss, but knowing it was Mardi Gras and World Pride, I knew I needed to be there.

You have four levels to play and get down and dirty. The event’s title did not disappoint, and as a power bottom myself, I was pretty content with the loads… of fun I received.

This bar also hosted a naked party during the week, and if there is something I love is being naked around other horny, sexy men!

If LOADS on Sunday was not enough for you, the naked party left me even hornier and thirstier for the coming days. Nothing is more liberating than being surrounded by men fucking and enjoying each other while everyone else is naked watching.

Don’t get me wrong, a bathhouse is similar, but the towel coverup takes away from it. I also find that when you go to a cruising or sex bar, it is easier to meet people as it is a more “friendly” environment, and you can connect with people with the same interests.

Gay Saunas in Sydney During World Pride

Now, speaking of saunas, I, of course, had to check them out for “research purposes.” I checked out Sauna 357 downtown and Sydney Sauna on Oxford St. The saunas offered a few levels of play areas and tons of horny gays waiting for some dick!

I am not sure how busy these places are regularly, but since it was World Pride, the lines to get in were insane!

Although a bit of a wait to get your hole pounded or your dick wet, trust me, it was worth it. A “sold out” bathhouse is heaven to me. Your possibilities to hook up are endless; this was an opportunity to hook up with men from all over the world.

I opted for a very frequented area in the saunas and just walked around naked for easier access. Let’s just say that almost a week after world pride has ended, my ass is still sore, but I regret nothing. I spent at least 6 hours every night I went to the sauna. You legit will lose track of the time of how much was going on and how busy it was.

Overall, World Pride, wherever it may be, is a great chance to meet cool 2SLGBTQIA+ people to celebrate being gay and being in a safe space.

Still, it is also an incredible opportunity to get down and dirty and attend different orgies, sex parties and saunas–and who doesn’t want their dick and ass to be a passport of hookups?!

Until the next World Pride hoes!

XO Phil
