So, What Is Dore Alley?
Dore Alley takes place on the last Sunday of July on Folsom Street between 9th and 10th Street (Folsom is an event Squirt.org is also a yearly attendee).
The Fair is the place to visit and experience all different kinds of kink while having a good time with your friends. If you have ever heard of Folsom, Dore is similar but smaller, more local, gayer, and naughtier; hence, I had to try it.
But there is more to Dore than just the fair on Sunday. Parties and events occur throughout the week, most occurring Thursday through Sunday.
When is Dore Alley in 2024, What Events Should I Attend?
Dore Alley weekend in 2023 was on Saturday, July 29, 2023 to Sunday, July 30, but the fun gets started a little earlier as people rev up to the weekend, with some parties I went to happening on Thursday and Friday.
First, you want to understand where you’re staying and how far your hotel or Airbnb is from the parties. Remember, you want to be able to stumble to the party and back with ease. San Francisco is a beautiful city, but it can be pretty dangerous at night if you take a wrong turn. Always go with someone and avoid carrying too much cash or valuables.
Thursday is calmer, but it starts to get wild on Friday. I had planned to attend just one party this day, Beta by Fog City Pack. However, wandering the streets, I received a message that the Horse Market Party team had selected me to be a Mare for that night’s Horse Market Party.
Listen, bottoms have dreams, and that dream for me was to be at this party.
What is Horse Market in SF During Dore Alley? A Gay Bottom’s Dream
If you have never heard of this party, let me tell you, you have to do it at least once in your life, either as a top or as a bottom. The party is originally from Germany and made its way to the US five years ago.
Now, Horse Market takes place in different cities across the globe, so you have to be on alert mode to find out when it will occur. The concept is easy (like me); you either sign up as a Mare (the designated bottom slut) or as a Stallion (the traveling top). You cannot do both at this event, so choose what you like better.
Mares are blindfolded with a hood (red for bareback and white for condoms only). Mares are not allowed to remove the hood and can never see who the Stallions are. Stallions can walk around and fuck as they see fit. If you are a Stallion, you must buy a ticket and show up when the event occurs.
If you are a Mare, it gets a bit more complicated. You will need to sign up and enter a lottery system. They allow Mares in depending on the number of Stallions who attend. If you get selected, get your ticket, and get ready to get that hole used and sloppy.
I was selected to attend a few hours before the event, so I ran to my hotel to prepare. You have around an hour to check into the event, where they will give you all the details and show you your stable handler (someone who can bring you water and take you to a break room or the bathroom).
Make sure you pick a good spot at the party to showcase your hole and ass so that Stallions fight for the right to fuck you. After this, you will put your hood on and assume the position. Trust me, it feels like hours go by when you are waiting for the Stallions to come in, but once it starts, it is a non-stop fuckfest.
I happened to be Mare 213 in a red hood, and I think I didn’t get a break from the Stallions once it all started to go down. I had one in front of me fucking my throat while two or three were waiting by my ass for the other Stallions to unload. I honestly couldn’t get enough.

Should I Participate in Dore Alley’s Horse Market Next Year in 2024?
As a hungry bottom, I would recommend participating in Horse Market if you are lucky enough to be picked as a Mare to the various participating Stallions; however, a few things to consider.
As you are blindfolded, or hooded, the entire time, and you’re unable to see who is fucking you, you should consider if this experience is for you. I would recommend, if you’re not already a BDSM or bondage whore, to try some gay bondage with a trusted partner or hookup friend, especially with blindfolding. Or, try a pillowcase or some form of hood to mimic the experience.

Do I Have to Be a Good Gay Bottom as a Mare for Horse Market?

But Wait, the Weekend is Just Getting Started! Beta at The Six
After getting to the hotel, I cleaned my cummy hole and got ready for the next party on my itinerary: Beta.
As a side note, Beta takes place at The Six and is hosted by Fog City Park – a group of Pups in San Francisco (honestly, some of the best people).
