Folsom San Francisco occurs every year on the last Sunday of September on Folsom Street between 8th and 13th Street. Folsom started 41 years ago, and it is one of the most (if not the biggest) significant outdoor events for leather and BDSM culture.

When Is Folsom in 2024?
As mentioned above, Folsom will usually be the last weekend of September; so, Folsom weekend in 2024 started on Friday, September 27, 2024, and went until Sunday, September 29, 2024.
These three days may be the “official” dates, but the fun occurs days before and after this weekend. I was lucky enough to arrive Thursday morning so I could have extra time to explore new events and get my ass used by everyone.
Where should I stay when visiting San Francisco, especially during Folsom?
San Francisco is a big city with many hills, so there are many factors involved in determining where to stay.
Also, San Francisco can be dangerous at night, so try to make friends to go to parties or walk around with, as there is always safety in numbers.
Also, avoid carrying too much with you; after all, you are going to be pretty much naked at most events, so why bother bringing a lot besides a credit card, a little cash for donation (more on that later), your fave lube and your ready and douched holes!
Your best (and easiest) choice is to find a place in Union Square or the Castro, as you can walk everywhere. Taking a taxi or any carshare in San Francisco is quite pricey, so sharing it with someone or having good walking shoes is extremely necessary. I stayed here for a few hours and met a few other people who were visiting Folsom and some locals who gave us tips on things to do.
